RE: M81202 Actuator - Rudder Stop Parameters
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Barney,

While the instructions for installation of the hydraulic linear drive specify information regarding the geometry to be maintained for the installation of the drive, this documentation does specify a minimum length for a fully retracted piston. The specifications for the Type 2 and Type 3 maximum strokes are 254 mm and 300 mm respectively. One may determine these lengths for one's hydraulic linear drive by manually pulling on the drive's piston until fully extended and then manually pushing inward on the drive's piston until fully retracted. When installing or modifying rudder stops, the rudder stops should be positioned to prevent the drive's extended and fully retracted piston from exceeding the maximum and minimum measurements obtained a indicated above. After doing so, then the autopilot's rudder limit configuration setting will need to be configured to prevent the rudder from hitting its stops when being driven by the autopilot.
