[CA] P58 Transducer Adaptor Cable
Previously my boat had a Raymarine A65 (circa 2009) and P58 transducer. The A65 has been removed and an a98 recently installed.

Can the P58 be married to the a98? And if so, what adaptor cable must be used?

Thanks!

Welcome to the Raymarine Forum GoodChance,

Unfortunately, the internal DownVision / high CHIRP conical sonar circuitry of the ax8, eSx8, and CP100 DownVision sonar module is not compatible with 50kHz / 200kHz transducers. The internal internal DownVision / high CHIRP conical sonar circuitry of the ax8, eSx8, and CP100 DownVision sonar modules is designed to support use with any of the a68, a78, a98, & a128 compatible transducer found here.

RE: [CA] P58 Transducer Adaptor Cable
I figured that might be the case.

Oh well ...... no big deal. I didn't like the TM transducer anyway.

I'll find a thru-hull transducer for the a-series.

If I were to purchase Raymarine E70341 (basically a B-60 CHIRP transducer) and connect to the a98, could I run it simultaneously to my Furuno 585/Airmar B164 (50/200Hz) without interfering with each other?

I assume that the Raymarine/Airmar B-60 transducer runs at a different frequency to the traditional-pulse Airmar b164?

Thanks!

GoodChance,

Q1. If I were to purchase Raymarine E70341 (basically a B-60 CHIRP transducer) and connect to the a98, could I run it simultaneously to my Furuno 585/Airmar B164 (50/200Hz) without interfering with each other?
A1. Raymarine's E70341 CPT-S (Bronze) 20° high CHIRP Sonar Transducer its designed to support high CHIRP conical sonar in depths up to those specified within the FAQ found here. CPT-S transducers will not additionally support the MFD's DownVision sonar imaging features as would DownVision transducers. DownVision and high CHIRP conical sonar chirps across the frequency range specified here. One should not typically expect interference between CPT-S and DownVision transducers and fishfinders operating at 50kHz / 200kHz.
