Transducer question
I have a E66079 transducer already installed and I'm thinking of upgrading my MFD.
1) Will this transducer work with an a67 MFD? 20 Alternately, will this transducer work with an e125 or e127 MFD? |

RE: Transducer question
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Navatech,
The E66079 B260 1kW fishfinder transducer is designed to be directly mated to a CP370, CP300, DSM300, DSM30, or DSM250 Digital Sounder Module. The ax7, cx7, e7D, ex7, or eSx7 MFDs feature internal 600W ClearPulse Fishfinder Sounder Circuitry. The E66079 B260 1kW fishfinder transducer may be adapted for use with an ax7, cx7, e7D, ex7, or eSx7 MFD by installing an E66066 Transducer adapter between the transducer's plug and the MFD's transducer socket. The ax5, cx5, e7, ex5, eSx5, and gSx5 MFDs do not feature internal ClearPulse sounder circuitry and as such would require the MFD be interfaced to a P370, CP300, DSM300, or DSM30, which in turn may be directly interfaced to the E66079 B260 1kW fishfinder transducer. |

RE: Transducer question
So, just to make sure I understand you correctly:
If I chose to purchase an a67 MFD I'd need a E66066 connector cable to make use of this transducer? And, if I chose either the e125 or the e127 I'd need to add a DSM300 to make use of this transducer? |

RE: Transducer question
Navatech,
Q1. If I chose to purchase an a67 MFD I'd need a E66066 connector cable to make use of this transducer? A1. Correct. This combination will drive the specified 1kW transducer with 600W to support sonar operation in depths up to 800'. Q2. And, if I chose either the e125 or the e127 I'd need to add a DSM300 to make use of this transducer? A2. Partially correct. Should and e127 MFD be installed, then you will need a E66066 connector cable to make use of this transducer. This combination will drive the specified 1kW transducer with 600W to support sonar operation in depths up to 800'. Should an e125 MFD be installed, then you'll need to additionally install a CP370, CP300, DSM300 to drive the 1kW transducer with 1kW, increasing the maximum operational depth of the sounder. As the CP300, DSM300, and DSM30 are no longer manufactured, a CP370 would be required should an ax5/cx5/e7/ex5/eSx5/gSx5 MFD be installed on the vessel. |

RE: Transducer question
Sorry, one last follow up question, assuming I go with an a67 MFD can I hook up a CHIRP transducer directly to the unit AND hook up the E66079 transducer by adding a DSM300 to my network?!... And, if that's possible, would I be able to run both transducers at the same time?!...
I'm asking because I would like to have CHIRP as well as as the full capabilities of the existing transducer (I already have a Hungarian DSM300 lying around)... |

RE: Transducer question
Navatech,
Q1. Sorry, one last follow up question, assuming I go with an a67 MFD can I hook up a CHIRP transducer directly to the unit AND hook up the E66079 transducer by adding a DSM300 to my network? A1. It is neither possible to interface a CHIRP transducer or CHIRP/DownVision Transducer to the transducer socket of an ax7/cx7/e7D/ex7/ex7/eSx7 MFD nor for its internal 600W ClearPulse fishfinder sounder circuitry to process data from such transducers. Should low power CHIRP/DownVision sounding (supports operation in depths up to 600') be desired, then the a/c/e/eS/gS-Series MFD should be interfaced to CP100 CHIRP/DownVision Sounder Module and one of the CHIRP transducers found here. Should high power CHIRP sounding be desired, then the a/c/e/eS/gS-Series MFD should be interfaced to CP470/CP570 CHIRP Sounder Module and one of the CHIRP transducers found here. The E66079 B260 Transducer may be interfaced to a CP370, CP300, DSM300, or DSM30, which in turn may be interfaced to the a/c/e/eS/gS-Series MFD. Alternatively, the E66079 B260 Transducer may be adapted (w/E66066 transducer adapter) to be mated to the Transducer socket of an ax7/cx7/e7D/ex7/eSx7 MFD. All of the MFDs and fishfinder sounder modules specified within this response have Ethernet communications interfaces to support communications between the MFD(s) and fishfinder sounder module(s). It is not uncommon for CHIRP, CHIRP/DownVision, SideVision, and 50/200kHz fishfinder sounding to be operated simultaneously within a system. |
