[CA11] Raytheon L 470
Have a Raytheon L 470 that was working properly and all of a sudden it will no longer find the bottom as it always shows bottom at 90' no mater what depth I'm in. Any Suggestions as where to look for issues?

RE: [CA11] Raytheon L 470
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Eirinnrose,
When operating in very shallow water, the reported symptom may indicate multiple bounces of the ping are occurring between a hard bottom and the water's surface, resulting in a reported depth value which is a multiple of the actual depth value. Switching from 50kHz to 200kHz may correct such problems when operating in very shallow depths. However, should the reported depth be occurring when operating in any depth of water greater than 30', then it would likely indicate a failure within the sonar circuitry the L470. Unfortunately, Raymarine's Product Repair Center can no longer service these fishfinders, necessitating its replacement. |

You're welcome ... as indicated, it would be recommended that the fishfinder be replaced.
