[CA11] Boat Drifts Sideways; Port 2 Starboard. F.F. Capabilities
When motors are off, and we set up to fish, the boat drifts side ways. Port 2 Starboard, or Starboard 2 Port.
How will the RealVision 3D, CHIRP SideVision, CHIRP DownVision, Low-power, high-frequency CHIRP work, as the transducers won't be in the correct position. Does the RealVision 3D, CHIRP SideVision, CHIRP DownVision only work when trolling, anchored up, or moving forward? The boat will be drifting side to side. Or, will it not work, and need to rely on traditional transducer mode.

Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Fish On,

While the RealVision 3D imaging will account for the motion which you have described, SideVision and DownVision imaging should not be expected to. The latter two types of sonar are dependent upon successions of high definition sonar slices (the sonar beam features a very narrow fore-aft angle and a much wider side to side angle) being sequentially (historically) rendered on the Fishfinder application screen. Accordingly, when drifting, it would typically be recommended that RealVision 3D and/or conical CHIRP Sonar imaging be used.
