[DG] [DG11] Will the go12 XSE display work with old Radar RD218 2 kw Dome

Is it possible to make the go12 XSE display work with my old Radar RD218 2 kw Dome

I presently have an C80 plotter with a RD218 2kw Dome and been struggling with the small cumbersome display

The new go12 XSE would fit in space on my 2601 Striper but I really don't want to replace the seldom used Radar.

Is there a workaround to combine both units?

Thankyou for your enquiry.

The Simrad Go12 XSE display is not compatible with Raymarine Radar products. The Raymarine Radome that you have is an earlier Analogue variant and so to update the system you would need to replace both the radome for a digital version as well as the display - the suggestion would be a Quantum radome and an AXIOM 12 display.

Thank you Derek, I was afraid that this would be the answer also for the AXIOM 12 display.
The Quantum radome and an AXIOM 12 display would be an awesome addition.

Hi Flatfish,

The AXIOM platform will also give you future expandability opportunities too, you can add AIS, to be overlaid on the charts, you can overlay radar onto the chart and there are options for Raymarine's Augmented reality too.
Adding the RV transducers will offer the Raymarine Real Vision sonar views too
