Hi,

I have a Raymarine Smartpilot giving me a 'AUTO RELEASE' message. I checked the connections and wires between the DPU and the S3G and they're ok. Any suggestions what I should try next? Is there a way to test this equipment to find the faulty part.

Welcome to the Raymarine Forum scotsvil,

Should you not be interacting with the vessel's helm wheel/controls, then the reported symptom would typically be indicative of a communications issue between the engine gateway and the DPU. It is recommended that the cabling between the DPU (see attachment) be inspected to ensure there are not cabling issues. Should no fault be determined with the cabling, then it would be recommended that the DPU and course computer be sent to Raymarine’s Product Repair Center to be bench tested/serviced. Assistance from a Certified Raymarine Installer may be found here.
