[CA11] Axiom Pro12 and Ray260
I’m installing an Axiom Pro 12 MFD with supplied (Power/NMEA0183/video cable; RayNet cable; DeviceNet to Seatalk adaptor) and want to connect a new Ray260. Do I need
E70196 VHF 0183 to SeaTalkng converter kit to receive the 0183 the 260 needs for DSC? I still have a Ray120 gps antenna (sensor?) available from my replaced Pathfinder system, if it would help. Any specific advice on how to accomplish this would be appreciated. Thanks!

RE: [CA11] Axiom Pro12 and Ray260
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Formulerie,

Q1. Do I need E70196 VHF 0183 to SeaTalkng converter kit to receive the 0183.
A1. Negative. Either of the following two methods may be employed to interface the Ray260's base station to the system to receive GPS data:

- BEST PRACTICE - the Ray260's base station and MFD each may be interfaced as a spur to a powered and properly terminated SeaTalkng / NMEA 2000 backbone. Please click here to view a FAQ addressing how a simple backbone may be constructed. This method has the advantage of permitting the MFD to update software within the Ray260.

- the Ray260's base station may be interfaced to the NMEA 0183 leads of the MFD's Power/NMEA 0183/Video Input Cable
