DST800 Test Plan
Greetings,
I wanted to see if this plan is 'doable' and I'm thinking about this correctly. Because I live on North Vancouver Island with no Raymarine support, I have to be pretty precise in my troubleshooting before sending parts out. I have a problem with depth reading coming from the DST800. I have an ITC-5, i70, and an a95 MFD. To figure out if the DST is bad or there's a problem with the ITC-5, I'm proposing these actions: 1. Disconnect the DST800 from the ITC-5 2. Wire it directly to the i70. 3. Test it. If good depth, transducer is go, chase ITC-5 or other problem. Bad/sporadic reading, replace the 800. Does this sound right? And, before I attack the boat, can the above be done? Thanks, Rick Segal S/V Tessie Marie |

RE: DST800 Test Plan
Rick,
It is not possible to do as you have suggested. Analog transducers must be processed by the iTC-5, or a compatible instrument display (ex. i50 Tridata, etc.) The i70 MFID has not depth/temperature/speed transducer processing within it. |

RE: DST800 Test Plan
Bummer. So do I have any options besides taking out the triducer and the ITC-5 and sending them in?

RE: DST800 Test Plan
Rick,
I would only recommend sending the iTC5 in to be tested. When returned from Raymarine (without fault found or repaired), should the problem persist, then the DST800's insert should be replaced. |

Thanks. That's the new plan.
