[CA11] AIS 650 seems to randomly transmiit position
I have an odd issue with my Raymarine AIS 650. I was sailing down island with some friends and they reported that we would show up on AIS but disappear for long periods of time. Sometimes days. The light on the AIS box is green. I hooked up AISPro2 and see the following messages:
TX attempt failed (msg 18 TX Disabled) TX attempt failed (msg 18 CP busy) TX attempt failed (msg 18 CP busy (marked unavailable)) DSC Stop I understand the CP busy messages AIS functions like a CDMA network connection. I don't understand the Disabled message. On my E120w chart plotter AIS shows with a green sideways triangle and an X. I see other boats under this scenario. Occasionally the x goes away and I am seen. It's rare that I see transmission. Any ideas? Thanks, Jon |

RE: [CA11] AIS 650 seems to randomly transmiit position
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Jon,
This problem had been initially reported in conjunction with early AIS650 softwware. It is accordingly recommended that the diagnostics tab of ProAIS software be used to verify that the AIS650 has been updated with the latest available Raymarine product software update and if not, that its software be updated using an SD memory card. Should you have done so and should the problem persist, then it would be recommended that the AIS650 be sent to Raymarine’s Product Repair Center to be bench checked / serviced. |
