I friend of mine told me to set on real wind, when I use the wind system mode, sailling downwind specially if a gennaker is setted.
It is a good chice? Eventually can you explain the reasons?

Thank you for your post.

When using apparent wind mode whilst running downwind with the autopilot engaged, the pilot can be subject to big course changes when the vessel accelerates in a gust or surfing down a wave. Using true wind mode will give the pilot a more consistent course and give you an accurate idea of what is going on.

Generally sailors use apparent windmode when using the pilot going upwind.
