[CA11] RAYPILOT 650 autopilot
I have a Raytheon RAYPILOT 650 unit

I am installing An Axiom MFD

Is it possible to drive the current autopilot with the Axiom...or do I need to get the Raymarine autopilot EV 200?

Thanks!

RE: [CA11] RAYPILOT 650 autopilot
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Bill,

Please click here to view a FAQ addressing this subject. As indicated therein, the autopilot would need to be interface to the system via a NMEA 0183 to NMEA 2000 data bridging device (ex. Actisense NGW-1, etc.). As indicated within the referenced FAQ, the Autopilot Controls feature of LightHouse 3 software is exclusively compatible with Evolution autopilots. Accordingly, should one desire to utilize the LightHouse 3 Autopilot Controls feature to control (command Standy, Auto, and Track modes) and configure the autopilot rather than perform these functions via the RayPilot 650's controls, then it would be necessary to replace your legacy autopilot with an Evolution autopilot.
