Internal MFD GPS Availability to Other Devices
I have an e7 MFD which has an internal GPS. I'm connecting my autopilot system (P70, ACU100, ev1) to the MFD via STng. Will my autopilot be able to access the MFD's internal GPS if the MFD is turned OFF or will I have to energize both systems to be able to use autopilot?

RE: Internal MFD GPS Availability to Other Devices
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum LngTmSlr,

Raymarine MFDs featuring internal GPS sensors are not designed to transmit this and other system data when the MFD is switched OFF. Please click here to view a FAQ addressing this subject. Please additionally note that while the p70/p70R Autopilot Control heads support displaying COG, SOG, Date, and Time, they are not designed to display Lat and Lon. Should one desire to display these data items when the MFD is switched OFF, then it would be recommended that an i70 MFID and a Raystar 130 be interfaced to the SeaTalkng backbone.
