Wi-Fi communications with legacy MFDs.

Raymarine did not produce mobile apps for the following retired MFDs:
- C-Series Classic MFDs
- E-Series Classic MFDs
- A-Series Classic MFDs
- C-Series Widescreen MFDs
- E-Series Widescreen MFDs
- G-Series GPM400

A limited degree of Wi-Fi communication with the above listed MFDs may be accomplished by interfacing the MFD to a third party NMEA 0183 to Wi-Fi communications interface (ex. Digital Yacht WLN10, COMAR NMEA-2-WiFi, Brookhouse iMux, etc.) or a NMEA 2000 to Wi-Fi communications interface (Digital Yacht NAVLINK WIRELESS NMEA2000 SERVER, etc.) (the latter is not recommended of C-Series Classic MFDs). Such interfaces may permit communications of alphanumeric system data (ex. GPS, instrument, navigational data, etc.). NMEA 0183 to Wi-Fi and NMEA 0183 to Wi-Fi communications interfaces will not permit sharing of graphical data (radar imagery, fishfinder imagery, cartography, satellite weather, and camera video).

The first generation of Raymarine MFDs for which Raymarine produced mobile apps was the a/c/e/eS/gS-Series MFDs. The RayControl and RayRemote mobile apps produced for these MFDs permit remote viewing of the MFD's screen as well as remote controlling of the MFD (excluding remote autopilot control).
