E120 Display
I have two 12 year old E120 displays. Every once in a while the screen will go blank and then come back on a few seconds later. The voltage is always strong and everything else is normal. What would cause the screens to blank out and restart? It does this in both day and night screens and it effects both displays.
Thanks
Mike I

RE: E120 Display
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Mike,

Does the symptom occur when the Radar Overlay feature has been configured OFF?

RE: E120 Display
I'm not sure, as I normally always run the radar. I will try with the radar off. Thanks.

RE: E120 Display
Hi Chuck. On the E120 display I have two screens, one is master on one feeds from it. I use the master for radar and depth sounder, the other is strictly GPS with no radar overlay. The screen that goes blank or dark is the master. It will stay off for 15 seconds or so, then come back on. It does this either in the night or day mode, with nor regularity.
Thanks Mike

RE: E120 Display
Eirinnrose,

Given the symptoms reported with the Data Master MFD (identified to not be displaying Chart w/radar overlay configured ON at the time of the failure), it is recommended that the MFD be sent to Raymarine’s Product Repair Center to have its backlighting circuitry bench checked / serviced.

RE: E120 Slow Display
Hi Chuck, I have two E120 Displays one for Radar/fishfinder that is the master and one for GPS map display. When changing direction the display moves very slow and takes quite a few seconds to catch up and when zooming in and out it takes quite some time for it to zoom to the new level and give an accurate map. I have changed the battery in the Raymarine GPS antenna, which seemed to help in locating the boat on the display, but other functions still run slow.
Thanks

RE: E120 Display
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Eirinnrose,

The MFD's Chart application is designed to refresh at approximately 1Hz intervals. The E-Series Classic MFDs were designed for use with Navionics Gold and Platinum chart cards. The chart refresh rate may be slowed if using a Platinum Platinum+ chart card or if using a Navionics+ chart card which has been populated with more than 2GB of nautical charts. This thread has now strayed from it's original topic. Should you have questions concerning the MFD which are unrelated to its backlight or this lastest issue, then please create a new thread for each question / issue.
