RE: Autohelm 100/300 autopilot
Lazybones,

While it would be possible for an autopilot which had been interfaced via NMEA 0183 communications protocol to receive data from the MFD to support using the autopilot's Track mode feature, the autopilot control head would need to be used to command the autopilot into track mode ... as it would with earlier generations of MFDs. The autopilot course computer designs featuring a SeaTalk communications interface which followed the 100/300 course computer (ex. S1, S1G, S2, S2G, S3, S3G) may be interfaced to a SeaTalkng backbone via a SeaTalk to SeaTalkng Converter (updated w/v1.21 software) to not only support using the autopilot's Track mode feature, but to also use the MFD's Autopilot Controls feature which would support having the MFD itself command the autopilot into Auto, Track, and Standby modes.
