Constructing a simple SeaTalkng / NMEA 2000 backbone

A simple backbone to interface two devices having a SeaTalkng communications interface may be constructed from the following components:

- A06064 SeaTalkng 5-Way Connector
- A06031 SeaTalkng Termination Plugs x 2
- A06049 SeaTalkng Power Cable (to be powered from a switched 12VDC power circuit)
- a pair of SeaTalkng Spur Cables of appropriate length to interface the two devices having SeaTalkng communications interfaces.

Note: Raymarine has recently begun to introduce products in which their SeaTalkng / NMEA 2000 communications interface utilizes a DeviceNet (M) socket (Axiom / Axiom Pro MFDs) rather than a SeaTalkng spur socket (ex. Ray50/60/70/250 VHF radios, i50/i60/i70 instruments, p70S/p70RS, AIS350/650, etc.). Such devices may be interfaced to one of the SeaTalkng / NMEA 2000 backbone's spur sockets by using an A06045 SeaTalkng to DeviceNet (F) Adapter Cable.

The diagram below shows a simple SeaTalkng / NMEA 2000 backbone.

Additional spur sockets may be added to this backbone by using appropriate lengths of SeaTalkng Backbone cable to daisy chain additional SeaTalkng 5-Way Connectors and/or A06028 SeaTalkng T-Pieces to the above listed SeaTalkng 5-Way Connector.
