[CA] ST8002 to NMEA 2000

RE: [CA] ST8002 to NMEA 2000
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Mark,

It is generally recommended that a NMEA 0183 to NMEA 2000 data bridging device (ex. Actisense NGW-1-ISO, etc.) be used for this purpose. The NMEA 0183 to NMEA 2000 data bridging device would be interfaced as a spur to the system's powered and properly terminated NMEA 2000 backbone. The NMEA 0183 leads/terminals of the NMEA 0183 to NMEA 2000 data bridging device would be interfaced to the autopilot NMEA 0183 Port 1. Interfacing the system in this manner will additionally permit heading and rudder angle data to be supplied to the NMEA 2000 network's devices.
