(DG11) Autopilot Display Reading Hard Starboard when rudder centered
I updated my autopilot to a Raymarine EV100 last year. Worked perfectly. This winter I had the Seastar hydraulic ram replaced (the old one was leaking). The steering works fine but the helm display shows 30 degrees starboard rudder angle when the rudder is centered. I tried going through the set up again but the problem persists (the position of the rudder angle sensor wasn't changed when the new ram was put in and the ram/ tiller arm are parallel when rudder is amidships.

Any thoughts on how to correct this?

Thanks.

Carl

RE: (DG11) Autopilot Display Reading Hard Starboard when rudder centered
Hi upnatum

Thank you for your enquiry.

The rudder reference unit can be tested as shown here ,this will indicate if the transducer itself is faulty or if the installation needs tobe checked again. Note that the base of the transducer has slots and it may be that when the new ram was fitted, the mounting screws wereloosened, the base twisted round and so the 30 degree offset introduced.

regards
