RE: [TG11] Estimated fuel level and distance to empty at zero
Hello Mark,

Ok, I think I have the problem. Here is a snapshot of the data you've sent:

Code:
127488: 09f20000 00 3B 0B FF FF 00 FF FF 3384.62330 (Engine params, rapid) Inst=0 RPM=718.8 Boost_press=65.5kPa Tilt=0%
127489: 09f20100 C3 00 00 00 00 7F 7F FF 3384.32133 (Engine params, dyn) 1: Inst=0 OilPress=65.5kPa OilTemp=6280.3°C
127489: 09f20100 C3 00 00 00 00 7F 7F FF 3384.32133 (Engine params, dyn) 2: EngTemp=62.74°C Alt=14.72V Fuel_rate=0.9l/h Run-time=357360s
127489: 09f20100 C3 00 00 00 00 7F 7F FF 3384.32133 (Engine params, dyn) 3: Cool_press=65.5kPa Fuel_press=655.4kPa
127489: 09f20100 C3 00 00 00 00 7F 7F FF 3384.32133 (Engine params, dyn) 4: Status1=0000000000000000 Status2=0000000000000000 Load=127% Torque=127%
127493: 09f20500 00 FF FF FF FF FF 00 FF 3384.62505 (Trans. params, dyn) Instance=0 Gear=Unknown TransOilPress=65535.0kPa TransOilTemp=6553.50°C Status=00
128259: 09f50300 FF FF FF FF FF 01 FF FF 3384.57085 (Speed, water refer'd) STW=1273.90kn SOG(depr.)=1273.90kn Source=Pitot Dir=N/A
130830: 09ff0e00 84 00 00 00 FF FF FF FF 3384.69961 [P:Prptry/undfnd] Manu=LOWRANCE IndGrp=Marine Unsupported proprietary PGN
127497: 15f20900 41 7F FF 7F FF FF FF FF 3384.56865 (Trip params, engine) Inst=0 TripFuel=378.00L FuelRateAvg=3276.70L/h FuelEcon=3276.70L/h FuelInstEcon=3276.70L/h
130832: 15ff1000 83 07 00 FF FF FF FF FF 3384.57788 [P:Prptry/undfnd] Manu=LOWRANCE IndGrp=Marine Unsupported proprietary PGN

What we can see here is that the fuel flow rate in message 127489, Engine Parameters, Dynamic (0.9 litres/hour at that moment) is perfectly reasonable, but the Trip Fuel value in 127497 Trip Parameters, Engine has obviously not been reset by the engine system for a long time, if ever (378 litres). This means that with your current setting of 127497 as the default fuel data source, as soon as the MFD receives a single message containing this value, the system is being told, effectively, that all of the fuel has already been removed from the tank and shows zero remaining.

I'd therefore recommend setting the fuel data source message to Fuel flow rate (PGN 127489) instead, which should work fine. I've tested this with my test Axiom with your data and the newly-released v3.10 software and it works fine.

Tom
