RE: [CA11] ST4000+ Drive Power Supply
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Andy,

Q1. Can ST4000+ be powered from SeaTalkNG and still provide power to the drive.,
A1. Negative. The ST4000+ is neither designed be powered by a SeaTalk bus, nor a SeaTalkng backbone.

Q1b. should the ST4000+ be directly connected to 12V power supply so that the drive is not getting power from SeaTalkNG?
A1b. Affirmative. Additionally and as indicated within the FAQ on this subject, the red lead of the SeaTalk Cable connecting the ST4000+ to the SeaTalk bus / SeaTalk to SeaTalkng Converter should be severed and then insulated to prevent shorting.

Q2. If I have to connect 12v power directly to St4000+ and still communicate on SeaTalkNG then I would have to remove power from the spur cable to ST4000+. What is the detailed procedure for this? The SeaTalkNG will already have a power supply.
A2. Please refer to the FAQ referenced within the response to Q1b.

Q3. I've attached an image of my proposed configuration.
A3. No configuration diagram has been attached to your thread. Should you desire for it to be reviewed, please attach the diagram to a follow-up post to this thread.
