RE: [CA11] C140W slow to respond
David,

As the C-Series Widescreen MFDs were pre-loaded with Navionics Silver cartography, it would be necessary to test the MFD by a method other then determining whether it can display detailed cartography. One such method would be to remove the chart card from the MFD's memory card reader and then command the MFD to Find Nearest Tide Station. Should no tide stations be listed or should you be unable to exercise the command, then it would be recommended that the Navionics chart card be re-inserted and that the Find command be executed a second time. Should the MFD respond with a list of tide stations, then the MFD's reader would be determined to be operational. Another test which may be performed is to command the MFD to save waypoints to the Navionics chart card. Should the MFD be successful, then it's reader would typically be deemed to be operational.

Per my earlier response, the MFD may also be tested with another Navionics chart card which was known to be operational. Should the problem be duplicated with the other chart card, then, then it would appear that the MFD's memory card reader has failed.
