Quantum WiFi Power Wiring
Hi, I am using a Q24W with an E7D via WiFi. In the manual it says it can be wired dircectly to the battery (fused, obviously). I have done this as the nearest switched power source is quite a ways from my radar dome. I am wondering what the power consumption is when the display is off and radar is off? I have shore power and a charger so it’s not a big deal, just curious.
Also, do I have to turn the scanner off when I power off the e7d, or does it “know†the display is turned off? |

RE: Quantum WiFi Power Wiring
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum OTR,
Please see the excerpt below from the Quantum Radome's Specifications page addressing your power consumption question. After losing communications with the MFD as a result of switching the MFD OFF, the Quantum Radome will enter Sleep Mode. |
