RE: [CA11] 3 MFDs Through HS5 RayNet Network Switch?
Hi Steve,
STng network (low bandwidth) shares "number data" to units connected by STng cables RayNet network (high bandwidth) shares "graphical data" to units connected by RayNet cables Hope this explains it simply. Kind regards Jules |

If I connect all the MFD to the SWITCH using Raynet cables will they then share the data? It is still not clear... what is the point of the 5-Way SeaTalkng Connector?

RE: [CA11] 3 MFDs Through HS5 RayNet Network Switch?
Hi Steve,
MFDs, Radars, fishfinders, and IP cameras share a Large amount of data and are connected up on a ethernet based network called Raynet. Your VHF, ext gps antenna, autopilot or intruments share much less data and are on a seperate network called STNG. Q1-what is the point of the 5-Way SeaTalkng Connector A1- If you have a STNG device, some examples are above, that device would connect to a STNG five way and the Master MFD would then connect to the STNG five way. The master mfd would then act as the "traffic cop" to route data through the system. Chris, |
