Thanks for the additional information. Our engineering team had similarly encountered this symptom. Not that I would have thought that it should have made any difference, I had previously been unaware that the MFDs running LightHouse 3 software were not reporting Heading data in systems lacking a GPS position FIX. Our engineering team further added that should the boat be located where it will be unable to acquire a GPS position FIX (ex. inside a building, under a metal roof, etc.), then setting variation in the MFD to manual and to 0, will then permit the MFD to populate the heading data item. This issue is far more likely to be encountered by our installers rather than our end users. While a heading vector may not be displayed in the absence of a GPS position FIX, there should be no reason the MFD to not populate the Heading data item. A problem report will be logged accordingly. |
