[CA11] Interfacing an Axiom to a 7 pin transducer
Looking to slowly upgrade my 2003-era electronics. Replacing the RS125/RN300 combo with an Axiom would be pretty straight forward. The Axiom would (for now) be a companion display to my RL80C plotter/radar.
I was thinking about the Axiom with no sonar, and would later add a second Axiom with radar and a basic transducer (I don’t fish so I don’t need any of the high tech sonars). But I just learned I can likely use the transducer currently on my boat, which is connected to a DSM250. It’s a seven pin transducer, but I don’t know which model. It’s at best a dual 200/50kHz transducer with max power 1000W. All the transducers of that era were either 600W or 10000W. Can I reuse this transducer use a nine pin to seven pin adapter cable to connect directly to the Axiom? There appear to be several different 9 to 7 pin adapter cables available. Which one would I use? Thanks, Steve -Steve 2003 Sea Ray 400DB |
