RE: [CA11] Replacing ST 70 autopilot head
dr john,
The p70S and p70RS autopilot control heads are recommended for use as replacements for autopilot control heads which had been designed for use with SPX autopilot course computers. Sea trial and dockside calibration data is not stored within the autopilot control heads. This information is instead stored within the memory of the system's autopilot course computer. Accordingly, should a replacement control head be obtained (either an operational second hand ST70 autopilot control head or a p70S/p70RS autopilot control head), then they should essentially be plug and play. |
