Are there any plans to modify the addressing scheme to work with the Wirie products?
The Wirie gave me this response. "They assumed they could use all 10.X.X.X addresses, which supports 16777214 devices. No boat or Raymarine install will ever have even close to that many devices. Their software should have been written to support a smaller set of devices (10.1.X.X for example which still supports 65534 devices) in order to avoid conflicts. It is not "correct" to reserve that many devices and preclude any other device on the network from using them." |
