Thank you for your enquiry. The suggestion you have made is correct, remove the blue terminator from the 5 way block, plug a new backbone cable in to that blue socket and then use a T piece at the end, refit the blue terminator into the empty blue socket in the T piece and then use a spur cable to the EV1.
