It is quite possible that the observed behavior may occur. The non-Data Master MFDs are very much dependent upon communications with the Data Master MFD. Should one not be shutting the equipment down by switching OFF the breaker / circuit switch supplying power to the MFDs, then it would be recommended that the non-Data Master MFDs be switched OFF prior to switching OFF the Data Master MFD. I favor using the breaker / circuit switch to control the power state of the MFDs.

So it's okay to just use a switch to power off the units vs using the shutdown button then a switch to shut off the power?
