RE: New equipment and integration of existing
Hello Chuck:

One question regarding ground loop and/or integration of seatalk with seatalk ng.

If we kept the original SG3 system, (course computer, ST6001, ST50+ instruments) all on its own seatalk network as it is today, powered by one of the two seatalk connections on the course computer, and then we connected only the yellow and screen wires of the seatalk side of the seatalk adapter cable which is connected to the setalk ng converter to the other seatalk connection on the course computer, does this still cause a conflict in integration or a ground loop issue?

In essence there would be two networks. The original seatalk network, and the seatalk ng network connected to the second seatalk port on the SG3 course computer.

Lazybones,

A1. It could indeed cause a problem and it is correspondingly recommended that the equipment be installed in the manner which I have previously specified.
