Cp470
Will the cp470 chirp sonar work with the newer c series mfd. Also can the c series be networked with a e165 mfd.
Thanks |

RE: Cp470
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Ken,
The CP470 and CP570 CHIRP Sounder Modules are compatible with any of the a/c/e/eS/gS-Series MFDs running the latest LightHouse software. As any combination of a/c/e/eS/gS-Series MFDs may be installed within an Ethernet Network, it would indeed be possible to interface an e165 MFD to a c95, c97, c125, or c127 MFD. |

RE: Cp470
Thank you Chuck,
I'm picking some new electronics for a new lobster boat I'm having built. The boat will have two stations with full control of the vessel. I'm thinking of buying a new third generation c series 12.1 and a new e series 15.4. We use waypoints throughout the day to Mark our lobster gear and it's very important that the two screens share information. In other words if I mark a waypoint on the e series 15.4 will it show up on the c series 12.1 and will it show on the 15.4 if I used the 12.1 to Mark a waypoint. Thanks for your help |

RE: Cp470
Ken,
Q: if I mark a waypoint on the e series 15.4 will it show up on the c series 12.1 and will it show on the 15.4 if I used the 12.1 to Mark a waypoint. A: Yes, when these MFDs have be interfaced via an Ethernet Network, they will share all system data except for NTSC/PAL video (ex. deck/engine camera, etc.) with one another. The Chart application pages/panes may be individually configured to show or hide waypoints. |

RE: Cp470
Another question if I may. As I mentioned I'm purchasing new electronics for a new boat. The one piece I purchased so far is the cp470. Bottom structure is as important if not more important than fish targets. Can you recommend a transducer that will give me a detailed picture of the bottom as well as fish targets. I'm currently using a c140w with a dsm300. Will I be as pleased with the quality and clarity of bottom structure with the cp470 as I am with the dsm300.
Again thank you |

RE: Cp470
Ken,
The sonar imaging returned from a system featuring a CP470 or CP570 should equal or surpass that of that produced by the DSM300. As the greatest detail is associated with higher frequencies, a Medium/High (MH) or High (H) compatible CHIRP transducer would be recommended. |
